We left Toronto at midnight on our 3rd leg to Santiago Chile. The time difference there is 5 hours from when we left Victoria so we set our watches to get our brains “synced” during this leg which is 10 hours and 30 minutes. A quick dinner and a glass of wine and then hunkered down for a little sleep. After a couple of cat nap sessions we woke up around 7:30am (2:30am Victoria time) to see the sunrise then another brief nap before breakfast.
Heading into Santiago there were no clouds and we were able to see the Andes, which are quite spectacular. We landed at 12:30pm and spent the next hour and 15 minutes in the airport souvenir hunting while the Air Canada 767-300 was serviced. The local temperature was 31 degrees, which is a bit of a shock for the senses once you walked off the airplane.
Back on the airplane at 1:45pm for the last flight leg of the trip to Buenos Aires which should be a couple of hours. The view of going across the Andes was even more spectacular that the view heading into Santiago but one you crossed them the Argentina landscape became very flat.
